There will be workshops on photography and translation in the morning. In the afternoon representatives of the Rome-based Archivio Memorie Migranti and Pan African Arts in Glasgow will discuss how migrants appear in the media, and how their own work challenges common stereotypes in Italy and Scotland.

One event of particular interest will be a screening Dagmawi Yimer’s film Va’ pensiero, an exploration of racist violence in Italy, and putting on an exhibition of the work of prize-winning photographer and video artist Mario Badagliacca.

All events are free but need to be booked in advance at http://beinghumanfestival.org/events/?region_name=scotland
